Cosmetic Breast Surgery
Breast augmentation, also known as breast enlargement, is a popular plastic surgery procedure for enhancing breast size and profile. Dr. Le Blanc will help you determine the type and size of breast implants that are best for your body to achieve the results you have always wanted.
A new generation of silicone gel breast implants are now available for all women over the age of 21, giving women more choices than ever before in breast enlargement surgery. Dr. Le Blanc will explain the differences between silicone gel and saline breast implants to help you make the choice that is best for you.
Using your own fat to augment your breast volume is not as predictable as an implant, but may be a great choice for the right patient to provide a subtle boost.
Breast lift, also known as a mastopexy, is a procedure used to lift the breasts to a more youthful profile. Breast lift is especially popular among women after breastfeeding and pregnancy have taken their toll, as well as for women experiencing the effects of aging. Breast lift surgery can be done with small or large volume reduction in size, maintaining the same size or in conjunction with an implant to enlarge or restore shape.
While some women complain about breasts that are too small, women with overly large breasts know that pendulous, heavy breasts can create problems as well. Breast reduction surgery is intended to reduce the size and weight of the breasts, thus improving problems with back, neck, and shoulder pain.
Dr. Le Blanc performs breast reconstruction surgery for women who have undergone a mastectomy, partial mastectomy or lumpectomy following breast cancer treatment. Because each woman’s situation is unique, Dr. Le Blanc will collaborate with you and your other physicians to create a surgical plan that is best for you.
Dr. Le Blanc specializes in implant based breast reconstruction. The current trend in breast reconstruction is direct to implant and prepectoral positioning of the implant. This means that the permanent implants are placed at the time of the mastectomy instead of a temporary tissue expander, if the patient is a candidate. Placement of the implant in the prepectoral (above the muscle) position greatly reduces postoperative pain and facilitates healing with a more natural appearing outcome.
